The black portion represents the whole number (unit: kilowatt-hours/kWh), and the red portion represents the decimal place (generally negligible). To read the meter, look straight at the dial and record the current value in numerical order from left to right. Subtract the current value from the previous value to obtain the electricity consumption for the period.
Smart single-phase meters display cumulative electricity consumption (usually in kWh) directly on the LCD screen. For smart meters, you should also monitor the battery status (if the meter relies on a built-in battery to maintain functions such as the clock). 2. No display on the LCD screen (for smart meters) or garbled text may indicate a power failure or internal circuit problem.

3. If there is a burning smell, smoke, or abnormal heat inside the meter box, immediately turn off the main power switch and contact the power company for repair.

In particular, under no circumstances should you disassemble or modify the meter yourself, or attempt to "steal electricity" by shorting the circuits or adding magnets. Such actions are not only illegal (violating the Electricity Law) but can also cause serious safety hazards such as electric shock and fire.

In addition to the meter itself, users should also pay attention to the safety of their electrical environment: ensure that the incoming electrical wiring meets the household load requirements (high-power appliances such as air conditioners and electric water heaters require separate wiring) to avoid overloading the meter due to line overload. When away from home for extended periods, it is recommended to turn off the main power to non-essential appliances to conserve electricity and reduce safety risks.
